‘…halston, Gucci, fio-rucci…’ sang Sister Sledge in 1979.

& Why shouldn’t Fiorucci be in the lyrics of a song back then….Firoucci was the shit !!!

So much of what we see today, was born from Elio Fiorucci & the label he founded in 1967. 

This man was part of what we would deem the Globalisation of Fashion.  He went all over the world & took inspiration & fed it back to to us all in his own crazy way.

He had some great followers like Andy Warhol & you can see some of that all rubbing off in his own work. He was the master of Pop Art in Fashion…

Supposedly also dubbed for making Leopard Prints & Camo poplular in Fashion…but hey I am sure there a few others that could lay that claim…

Graphically Fiorucci was outstanding & you can still see echoes of what he did in many labels Graphics & Styling…I mean there is a treasure trove of inspiration there…

I remember being a teenager & going down the Kings Road & being in the Fiorucci store. It was crazy…this was one of the 1st shops that had it all…Accessories of all Kinds, Badges, Patches…Toys…al of it. The next thing I remember seeing anything that resembled Fiorucci were shops in Tokyo…Elio had that shit on lock from time !!!

Elio Fiorucci died in 2015 at the age of 80, & I for one am ever grateful for his contributions to our game & love that even with out knowing…people are still inspired by what he did.

Thank You Elio Fiorucci...Rest in Power !
