CLUB C

So back in 1989 when I lived in Hong Kong, I used to be the GM of this sports chain 'Sports Connection'. I used to get involved in all the product development & sneaker buying.

You all laugh...I still don't know shit about kicks n all that entails...I just knew what I liked & my buyer who i worked with was the Sneaker Head...before there was a term Sneaker Head...what the fuck was her name...terrible with names.

Anyway, used to get so many free kicks that i had a whole room in the flat...no boxes...sorry to all...just a floor of kicks hah. Sad things is when I left...I left them all...except a couple...namely one, my air of Reebok Club C's. This was my all time favorite shoe...ok thats a lie...probs my fave will always be Chuck...love you Chuck...but Club C came in a close 2nd.

The pair I had were all white with the text in Blue...wore those to death & only had one other pair when I came back to London. Couldn't find him here...which pissed me off. Think they were big in HK because Michael Chang wore them...maybe I am wrong, but at the same time...white kicks sold more than any other on HK then...

I saw the resurgence of these & never saw the one's that I had, but the ones that arrived in a box today are the closest so far.

Now it is all about degrees of separation right, well one day in Amsterdam, my man Edson introduced me to a most excellent chap Naoki from Reebok at breakfast. I excitedly recited my tale about the Reebok Classic, & low & behold these arrived today. I don't get excited about kicks much, but I am for these...

Now I have already taken a beating for not lacing the shoes correctly in this pic...so my apologies to Che & all who would deem me a fool for not lacing correctly...
