Batman: The Animated Series Is a cartoon Developed by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski based on the DC superhero Batman. The series was well known for its darker tone, artistic quality and modernization of Batmans origin. The visual style of the series was based on the artwork of Radomski, and the gothic look of Gotham City was based on his initial designs. In addition, Radomski issued a standing order to the animation department that all backgrounds be painted using light colours on black paper as opposed to the industry standard of dark colours on white paper.
