I CHOOSE YOU

So I picked up my young Don Dante from Queens Park Friday night around 7.15pm after getting a call from mom dukes that he was running late.

Running being the optimum word as this Don comes running to the car, brow all sweaty & out of breath...

'You alright ?' I ask.

'Yeah just tired, been walking for ages.' Dante replies.

He then goes on to apologise for being late & that he & a gang of friends had been out catching Pokemon. These kids had been to  Holland Park & then to Queens Park chasing Pokemon. Dante then tells he had walked 10km to hatch some eggs.

This game is amazing. I'm sitting there listening to him & thinking how unfit I am, as my 12 year old son casually tells me how active he has been. All over a game.

I know we all know that the mechanics & interaction of this game is ground breaking, but being so involved watching my 3 get involved is pretty crazy.

Watching them has made me see a mix of attractions...

But in there is the psychology of the collector. The one up'ness. How many? What level? & Even where you caught your Pokemon. I mean, we were in Sicily a few weeks back, surrounded by Ancient Greek ruins & these cats are chasing Pokemon.

Who ever did all the research & how to adopt all the data into this Game. Excellent work. But more than all that it's the activity.

You can't sit on your ass & progress in this game. You have to be active.

I know we all know this is nothing new here. But, it still fascinates me. The obsession of the game kind of keeps you active too. More you play the more you have to move & get the fuck out of the house !

Its a game I can't complain about as it has brought groups of people together. When you see someone chasing Pokemon you know they are, & there you go you can chat with them about, or even drop a passing comment. It all brings a smile & a nod.

Good & Bad in all, but this ain't that Bad.

Actually looking forward to the next generation of games to come out.

Can someone make an Indiana Jones one where you start with part of a map & it takes you all kinds of places to find the final treasure & finish the game. Thanks. Oh wait, we live that already.

Be well.
